Terms & Conditions

Please read these before scheduling service.

Note: These terms apply to cleaning services (such as window cleaning), as well as other services described on www.mcmethods.com, provided by Jonathan McMillan, a sole proprietor licensed in Oregon and Washington.

Effective date: March 6, 2026

1. Services Provided

Services include residential and/or commercial window cleaning and other cleaning or property services as outlined in written or verbal estimates. Any additional services not listed in an estimate must be agreed upon separately and may incur additional charges. Standard estimates do not include restoration services such as hard water spot removal or paint removal.

2. Estimate Validity

Estimates are valid for 30 days from the date issued. After that, I reserve the right to reassess and issue a revised estimate.

3. Recurring Services

For recurring services based on an ongoing estimate, I reserve the right to reassess pricing if conditions change. You will have the opportunity to review any revised estimate before the next service proceeds.

4. Access & Preparation

Clear access to all areas to be cleaned must be available at the scheduled time. For interior work, an adult (18+) must be present unless prior arrangements are made in writing. If I am unable to perform the service due to locked areas, unrestrained pets, obstructions, or the absence of a required adult, a late cancellation fee (see Section 5) may apply.

5. Cancellations & Rescheduling

Please provide at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or schedule changes. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, or access issues that prevent the service from being completed, may result in a fee of $35.

6. Weather Delays

For safety and quality reasons, services may be rescheduled in the event of adverse weather conditions such as high winds, heavy rain, or freezing temperatures. I will contact you as early as possible to reschedule.

7. Force Majeure

I am not liable for failure or delay in performance due to circumstances beyond my reasonable control, including natural disasters, power outages, illness, or governmental actions.

8. Payment Terms

An invoice will be sent by email within 5 days of completed service. Payment is due within 15 days of the invoice date unless otherwise agreed in writing. I accept credit card and bank transfer. Invoices unpaid after 30 days may incur a late fee of 1% per month on the outstanding balance. Failure to make timely payment may result in suspension of future services.

9. Discounts

A bundle discount may apply when you schedule both interior and exterior window cleaning on the same day. Referral discounts, when offered, are applied after a referred customer completes their first service. Other limited-time discounts may be available and explained at the time of your estimate.

10. Safety Limitations

I do not perform work requiring roof access, high ladders, or elevated equipment beyond a standard extension pole or short stepladder. I reserve the right to decline any work where safety is at risk.

11. Liability — Important

By scheduling and accepting service, you acknowledge and agree to the following: I am not responsible for pre-existing damage, defective window seals, failing screens, or other structural issues present before service begins. I work carefully and take reasonable precautions, but I cannot guarantee against all risk of accidental damage during service. In the event of damage directly caused by my work, my total liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific service in which the damage occurred. I am not liable for incidental, indirect, or consequential damages. Restoration services (such as hard water spot removal or paint removal) carry an additional risk of damage. By proceeding with these services, you accept that risk and agree I am not liable for resulting damage. If you have concerns about the condition of your windows, screens, or other surfaces before service begins, please raise them before work starts. Any pre-existing concerns should be documented and agreed upon in writing. If you are not comfortable proceeding under these terms, please do not schedule service.

12. Satisfaction

If you are not satisfied with the quality of work, please notify me within 24 hours of service completion. Fees for completed services are generally non-refundable, but I will re-clean the affected area at no charge if notified within the 24-hour window. If I determine that the issue is unrelated to my work (for example, interior glass that was not part of the service, or buildup inside window panes), a call-out fee of $35 may apply.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which the service is performed: Oregon or Washington, as applicable.

14. Text Messaging / SMS

By providing your phone number, you agree to receive text messages regarding estimates, scheduling, service updates, and related business communications. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, or HELP for support. See the Privacy Policy for more detail.

These terms supersede and replace any prior terms issued under McMethods LLC.
